Overview
This course is a “Core course” that is part of the Graduate Certificate in Aviation. This online (20-hours) course in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management is specifically created for aviation industry professionals to further develop their analytical and critical thinking skills to apply fundamental concepts of supply chain management to the global airline industry,with a particular emphasis on the Asia-Pacific Region.

Instructor Details
Biography:
Education: Dr. Tan holds a Bachelor degree in Information Technology from University of Southern Queensland, an MBS from the National University of Ireland and a PhD in Supply Chain Management from the Nanyang Technological University. He is also a Certified Fellow in Production and Inventory Management from APICS.
Consulting and Industry Experience: Dr. Albert Tan has worked as a consultant for the Center for Corporate Learning at the Singapore Manufacturers’ Federation (SMa) and as Director in a government agency in Singapore. He has also held position as the Associate Director at The Logistics Institute – Asia Pacific, NUS; managing the Double Master program in Supply Chain Management and Logistics Management. He has held teaching positions in the college of graduate studies at the University of Wollongong in Dubai, National University Singapore, Malaysia Institute for Supply Chain Innovation (MIT SCALE Network), Curtin University and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Singapore.
Interests: His research interests are in Blockchain, Process Reengineering, Omnichannel logistics and Reverse Logistics.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, students should understand the challenges faced in supply chain, the basic concepts of supply chain management, supply chain strategy, supply chain network, supply chain planning and forecasting. Case studies on supply chain in aviation in Asia will be used for discussion. Upon successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:
